Pioneer badges are finite. Once you claim the first scan of a beer, nobody else can earn that badge, and your name stays tied to that beer's entry. Pioneer discoveries earn more points than repeat scans and show up in the community activity feed with their own highlight, so the find gets noticed.

Every scan tells a verified brewery where its beer is being found and how it is rated. Verified breweries see those signals in the Brewery Portal and can author the copy that appears on their beer pages.
